Contest Form
All entrants are required to create an account on the Design Contests Hub website and fill in the Contest Form. You’re not in the contest until you do!

Game Submission

1 Create a WIP (Work In Progress) thread for your game in the WIP Forum.

The first post of this WIP thread must contain the following:

• A link to the 2026 Children & Family Game Design Contest thread (this very thread).
• A brief Game Summary (2 or 3 sentences).
• An image of the game (more than one is fine, but at least one is required). The image may be set up to replicate the game in play.
• Description of components required to play.
• Number of players.
• Intended earliest age to play.
• Approximate playing time.
• Category in which the game will be competing – either Children Game or Family Game.
• Links to the current game files. Rules and components should be in PDF format.

All of the above information will be required in the WIP thread. Any other info is at the designer’s discretion. Please keep the first post in your WIP thread updated with current links and information about the game.

• Include the current status of your game in the WIP thread’s title. This will help other people know where you feel your game is in the design process.

• Idea Phase (Private Playtesting. No publicly available printed components yet.)
  Components Available (Public Playtesting. Printed Components are available. Game may be changed as a result of playtesting.)
  Contest Ready (Game is complete. No changes will be made.)

• Games submitted to this contest should be new or contain significant updates to a previously released game, be it PnP, published, or part of a previous contest. Previously released games may not be entered unchanged.

2 Fill the Contest Form.

• To enter a game in the contest, you’ll need to create an account on the Design Contests website. Please allow up to a day to receive the confirmation geekmail (it is sent by hand).

• After you activate your account and log on the site, enter the data about your game in the Contest Form. Your game is not in the contest untill you do this!

3 Post about your game in the contest thread.
